Recruit Jenkins...looking fine!

Well Blake finally gets to wear his uniform. He has a hat but I haven't gotten a  picture with him wearing it yet. It's so strange to see him in a uniform. What a handsome officer he will make!

He is progressing just fine in the Academy. He got a 81 on his last test which is awesome since the highest grade was a 89. This was one very hard test that no one has ever gotten a 100 on. It was over search and seizure. Blake got every single drug question right. He is really good at measurments so that really helped. 9 years working in the cabinet shop really paid off.

17 days...sigh

Well I only lasted 17 days of my Yoga challenge. I ended up pushing myself so hard one day and tried running 2 miles and 20 minutes of yoga. I ended up sprinting during my run that left me aching the next morning. I couldn't even stretch without every inch of my body hurting. I brought in on myself...I failed.

I still love yoga and will continue to do it often and enjoy it.
What I really miss dearly is my running. I can't wait for the day I can be back at the gym running 4+ miles.

Watermelon fun... for some!

Parker loves watermelon! I introduced it to his cousin Devin the other day and he wasn't to sure of what to do with it yet. I took some very entertaining pictures that I have to post!

super happy with his watermelon

Parker after I took the watermelon away...SO SAD

Now these next pictures are from when I gave both boys watermelon.

After the first three pictures it looks like they were both happy!

Then Devin pulled it out and away from his mouth. Poor thing, I couldn't get him to understand it was in his hand. Everytime I tried to move his arm so it would go back in his mouth he would scream louder at me.

then he just dropped it all togehter.

meanwhile parker is just going to town with his watermelon and looking at Devin like whats wrong?!

Devin evetually just got to the point where even if it was in his mouth he was mad b.c he didn't  know how to eat it. In time he will know the same joy as Parker!

He didn't like me at this point...So I promise I did feed him his baby food!

after he ate his jar of food, he was HAPPY!

10 months

If you are counting weeks (Mondays), Parker was 10 months yesterday! or if you go by the date...on Thursday my sweet baby boy will be 10 months. I really do wish I could freeze time, he is getting so big and doing things so quickly. The closer he gets to 12 months the more independent he will become, and it makes me so sad. I LOVE how much he needs me now.

He is all over the place. He is actually up on hands and knees crawling, he is holding onto things and walking a lot more. The walker my mom got him is finally getting some good use. He loves pushing it. He is becoming a sly little stinker too. He has a really good fake cry and can throw a back arching fit to get his way! He loves to clap and wave at random times. He has only waved at us at the right time maybe twice. We are working on it thought! He is started to let go of things more often and stand all by himself, but as soon as he realizes what hes done he sits done or grabs a hold of something quickly. He is becoming a climber to...oh great!

He loves food! I think his favorite vegetables is squash and he loves all fruits but Watermelon by far is his favorite, second is blueberries! They other day he was eating his vegetables like a good boy and as soon as he saw me take out a pair to slice it up he wouldn't take another bite unless it was the pear. smart kid! If he hears me say milk he immediately crawls over to me and lunges at me...Love it!

he feel asleep while I was walking. this doesn't look very comfortable.

He got stuck under the bar stool...MOM HELP

He plays with Lexi's tail all the time!

this is some serious bed head
He loves to read!

As much as I want to get rid of the dogs sometimes, I can't. He loves them so much.

Family update

Blake: The Academy is going well! Right now they are learning search and seizure. It sounds so complicated. The week prior they were learning about abuse. I think that really stressed Blake out. They showed them some pretty horrible pictures, movies, and talked about some really sad cases. They mean well when they show them that stuff, they are just trying to prepare them for the stuff they will be seeing everyday.
This week they are going to practice how to properly search a car and house. They are also bringing in drugs from off the street they find to show them what they look like. I have learned some interesting stuff about whats goes on out on the streets.

Blake got his police belt. He doesn't have his whole uniform yet so they only wear it when they are practicing CT...combat training. I think! Hopefully soon he will get his whole uniform, part of the reason he isn't wearing it is because they are being punished. They get in trouble for every little thing and that's part of their punishment.

Sternum injury is still a problem but he is just fighting through the pain. If he could get a week of rest in it would probably heal but that's not happening until he graduates.

His grades are great...He got a 99 on his last test. He missed one question, so close too. He is doing great on his workout times too.

Christine: I am staying committed to my 40 day yoga challenge. going on my second week and haven't missed a day. SO proud of myself!!! Some days I only get 10 minutes in but hey its 10 minutes! I still go walking with my friend in the mornings so its not like I am not doing anything else :)

When I first started by day three I was so sore, and wanted to give up so badly. Now it feels wonderful, still hard but wonderful!

No more pictures of me doing yoga, so these will do!

health, vitality, mind and spirit

This morning while laying in bed I thought I need a challenge/goal. I always set myself up for a running goal, and with this heat its just to hard right now. If I still had my gym membership I would have no problem.

So I challenge myself to YOGA FOR 40 DAYS. My friend Kristen is my inspiration for this. She actually challenged herself to NO SUGAR for 40 days. I applaud her for that, she was a trooper! Although her goal was more for religious purposes...I believe. Kristen correct me if i am wrong.

I chose Yoga because...1. it reduces STRESS, 2. it's ENERGIZING, 3. to become more FLEXIBLE and STRONGER and 4. I need UNITY...bring my MIND,BODY and SOUL to perfect Harmony.

Today was day 1. My last day will be September 20th. To bad I can't travel around the world and do yoga. Like the book/movie EAT PRAY LOVE. ( maybe now would be a good time to get through the book!)

Cadence call...

The Academy is like the military...so Blake comes home singing cadence calls all the time. for example: wooha What? I gotta yo yo, and They say at the Academy the pay is mighty fine, they pay you $100 and they take back $99, and the cadences could go on.

Blake has had 5 test now and he has gotten one C, majority of the class got a C though. Very hard test. His next test is going to be hard too. He is always studying...sucks for me b.c I don't have much help.

He has survived his first month in the Academy!! Even with his injury, which is fine by the way. He is toughing it out and doing all of his workouts. hopefully the pain goes away soon.

Not much to report...well nothing exciting that is!

just a few pictures!

I still have not been able to get video of Parker crawling on his hands and knees...bummer. Little stinker!

Parker sitting with Daddy while he studies....boring!

they look so cute!
This morning when Parker woke up he had total bed head. He usually looks like this after sleeping in my bed. I can't blame him, its a very comfy bed!

This looks like a face Blake would make.
I actually think I have one of Blake like this.
I need to find it now!

I love this kid...He is way to cute.

I tried everything to get him to crawl on his hands and knees for me.
He wasn't fooled.
 STINKER!

Niki and Lexi...they don't get any attention anymore

So on the days I watch Devin, I have a bin for his diapers and wipes. I leave it in the living room for convenience  and it ever fails Parker always finds it. This is what happens when a 9 month old finds diapers!

cousin Devin

The boys...getting into everything!
I love how my bag below says babies!
Perfect!

belly to bottom

On Wednesday Parker finally sat up from laying down on his belly. He could always eventually get to sitting down by pulling up on something and then sitting down. My friend kept telling me once they can go from belly to bottom he will probably start crawling on hands and knees. Yesterday (Thursday) he started to actually crawl! She was right!!! He mostly does it on the carpet or rugs and never last long before hes back on his belly army crawling.

Suck it up!

Blake Finally had a doctors appointment this morning, thank goodness its only a strain!!! The doctor told him he can still do everything its just going to hurt. They ended up giving him a steroid shot and said that hopefully in a week he should be feeling better. In the meantime I plan on getting him adjusted to help speed up the process.

I feel bad for him right now because he has a cold and it hurts to sneeze or cough. I tried to get him to use the Netti pot before he got the cold to try and prevent it...but he never listens to me until its to late!

I am so THANKFUL its nothing serious. It would have really sucked for him to get pushed back to the next class.
Blake moves forward with Class 129!

129! FEELIN' FINE!
