11 months old

Today Parker is 11 months old...the count down begins to his 1st Birthday.

This past month as been a blast! Parker is such a smart little guy. I should have named my post Monkey see Monkey do. He loves to copy us! He tries to put all his toys in our mouth, puts his toys in the basket if I ask him to, but then he takes them right back out. Everything is a game! This morning we were stacking blocks together, so smart!

He still isn't walking but starting to show more interest. A few weeks ago he wouldn't even stand up and walk with us, now he thinks its fun. He likes it when I walk with him and we chase daddy or Devin and pretend to be a monster.  He just laughs, the sweetest sound! He also really likes it when I am making monster growling noises and chase him. He army crawls so much faster than regular crawling so that's how he gets away from me. A house full of laughter is the best!

He has two more teeth now, that explains why all his pictures he chewing on something! His third tooth cut on September 7 and his 4th tooth just cut through on Friday, September 23. He seems to be handling teething pretty well. for about two or three weeks he wasn't sleeping well and figured it was because he was teething. I don't think it was that, he ended up having a REALLY bad rash. His little boy parts were so red, irritated, and dry. I had him in disposables for a week so that I could put A&D ointment on him. It cleared up after just a day but I wanted to make sure it was all the way gone. I also took that time to deep clean his cloth diapers. Much better now!

He loves to talk! It sounds like he says dog,and duck, but everything else is just gibberish. He is trying so hard to say what we say sometimes. I can't wait to hear his little boy voice. For now I will just enjoy all the cute sounds he makes now.

Parker can now sign several things but he has to be in the mood. eat, milk, more, and all done.

The Dogless Dog Lovers...

Today started out a great morning, both boys were being great, and I was in good company at the walking park. I get home and was checking the mail when I heard crying, I assumed it was the crazy Mexican kids next door. Next I hear my neighbor yelling for help to his wife, and my other neighbor just happened to be outside as well. So we both ran over to our neighbors gate so we could help and I open it to find my neighbor sitting on Lexi. Lexi had dug a hole under our fence, a much larger hole than before and attacked my neighbors Chihuahua.  When I got there their dog was already inside so I had no clue what condition the poor dog was in. Once I got Lexi in the garage I tried to call my neighbor but he was pretty upset and wouldn't talk to me. I then hear him take off in his car, tires squealing and all. I can't even describe how bad I felt/feel about this. especially since this is the 2nd time Lexi has gone into their backyard and hurt one of their dogs. I should have gotten rid of her ALONG time ago... yes I know now. I am very thankful for my mom and great friend Amanda for coming over and helping me out. Amanda spoke to my neighbors to make sure the dog was ok. The dog needed two stitches and a shot, and was just very shaken up. Not sure how much it cost them but WE DO INTEND TO PAY THEM  BACK FOR IT. My mom stayed at home with Parker and Devin while I surrendered the dogs to the Fort Worth Humane Society. I think we would have been fine keeping Nicki, but I felt it was best to not ever put ourselves in this situation again. I pray that she finds a great home that will give her the attention she needs that I could no longer give. I will miss he so much. As for Lexi,  I don't feel bad for giving her up.I am just thankful it was a dog she attacked and not a kid, and I was not willing to wait for that to happen. She has been such a bad dog and I gave her so many chances.

Life will go on and Nicki will find a great home I am sure of it! Thinking good thoughts.

Freeze...put your hands where I can see them

Time for a long overdue Blake update. Sorry I have been busy being a mom!

Since the last post Blake has been learning Traffic for the past three weeks. They set up fake traffic scenarios and then had them write up a report on them. They did that for three days, and the reports take a really long time. Good thing they weren't practicing DWI reports, we hear those are the worst. I think he learns about that later in the Academy.

They also had to direct traffic one day this past week. He said that was easy. I never got a picture of him in his bright yellow vest. SAD

For CT (combat training) they are practicing handcuffing each other. Blake showed me the way they are suppose to handcuff someone, he looks goofy! The person training them showed them the goofy correct way and then explained no one really does it that way. They have two types of handcuffs, and they practice with both so they can decide which ones they like best.

TYPE 1

TYPE 2

For  PT (physical training) every Tuesday and Thursday they do a Met con workout. Blake tells me about these workouts and I would die. Very intense, but they have to workout this hard to get in shape as fast as they need to. A part of me is very jealous that he gets paid to workout, although I don't think I would want to workout that hard!

10 weeks down! 2 more weeks until HELL week...he gets tased by the stun gun, pepper sprayed, and tear gassed. On top of that he has a mid-term.

I will keep you posted. Thanks for following!

Goodbye hair

Today I took Parker to get his first professional haircut. I have trimmed it several times before but decided he was long over do for a real haircut. We took him to cool cuts for kids.

 here are the before pictures:

say goodbye to his hair...sniff sniff

He wasn't that thrilled that this lady was cutting his hair.

DRUM ROLL.......AFTER PICTURES

who is this kid?! he looks totally different.

 What a handsome little man!

 Hello cutie!

whats colder than cold...Ice Cold

A few weeks ago we knew Blake would be off for Labor day and made plans to go to the water park. Who knew that yesterday the high would only be 86 and it would be super windy. We decided to still go with high hopes it wouldn't be to cold.Wrong it was freezing. James, Rachel, Ethan and Devin came with us. Ethan just took off straight into the water and never flinched when his feet stepped into the arctic waters. I think we only put Parker in the water for a total of 20 minutes because it was so cold and windy. He looked miserable. We ended up staying for about two hours and how we managed that I have no clue.

We did go to the sandy beach part of the park and let Parker play in the sand. He got a really good taste too. He has to put everything in his mouth. Silly kid.

We still had a good time and that's all that matters!

My super handsome boys! you can see how windy it was just by looking at Parker's hair.

One Happy Family!
