22 months

better late than never...here is Parker's 22 month update!

Lets see where do I begin...This month he has developed multiple personalities. One minute he is a sweet angle and the next he is throwing a fit along with a scream that can be heard for miles. He is also going through a phase where he wants you to sit by him while he plays or color while he watches.

daddy put a locus shell on him...he eventually freaked out

silly kid

What is he into now...He really likes his puzzles and is getting really good at them. He has is moments when he gets frustrated and throws what ever item he has. I have to remind him to call down and try again. He gets that from his dad! He is talking more and more and I still find myself surprised every time he says something new. I love watching him grow up, it is a beautiful thing! He is still crazy about Elmo. He loves to put things into things and take them out. he is definitely working on developing those fine motor skills.

He loves to play at the Park!

hanging out with his two best buddies Zack and Wyatt

"helping mom cook" this is how I keep him entertained while I bake or cook.
I always regreat it b.c he makes such a big mess, but he has so much fun that I get over fast

We relapsed on the potty...I read its very common. I know, I know he is still really young! He has now come back around and will sit on the potty again so we are at least moving in the right direction again. Now he usually just tells me after he goes. The past two days he has been patting his bottom and saying poo poo but when i put him on the potty he doesn't go.

What a big boy..he doesn't like to sit in his booster chair

he has recently started to line up all his toys. Reminds me of his cousin Niko
I use to be so good at blogging and remebering all the new things he does...not so much anymore.

Lights out...

On Sunday night we had some pretty intense storms roll through parts of Fort Worth. High winds that caused power outages, trees and power lines down, and houses to loose siding. Crazy storm. Our power also went out...nothing new there.

Blake was on duty and said that it was crazy. He actually sent me a text that said bad storms...its cra cra out here. Cra cra was said by the one and only Jay Z. He said that while the Storm was blowing through they had about 100 call holding. He said most were about trees down and alarms going off. He would just go from one call to the next. He told me felt like Hercules moving trees out of the road.

They had three "12's" dead people that night. One happened to be in the apartments we use to live in when we first move in together. Summerbrook apartments. Some guy blew his head off with a shot gun. The others may have been caused by natural death but I don't really remember.

He said they go several shots fired called. Apparently the north side/diamond hill area lost power so the Mexicans went crazy. He said people are like animals right before or during a Storm. they go crazy. He said that they were just shooting off rounds in the air and each other. Since fences were down people were stealing stuff. He just said it was crazy.

Very glad I was no where near short north on Sunday night. That would have been very scary.

Did you catch the news

On Monday right as Blake was starting his shift, they got a call about two kids drowning at a pool in Woodland Springs. For those who don't know its a neighborhood about 15-20 away from us, it also happens to be Blake's beat. (beat means it his specific area to work, so if any calls comes in he should be the closest and takes all the calls) Since this happened around 3 it took them about 30 minutes to get there, he had to leave from the sector, and ran code (lights on) all the way. He said he was going down I-35 at about 120 mph on the shoulder...wow that's fast.

This story has helped both Blake and I realize how much the news makes up. Once he sent me a text and told me he would be on the news, I turned on the TV. I happened to catch him on channel 11, and the news had the story all wrong. They had the kids ages wrong, and they were simply guessing at what had happened. They said it was a diving accident.

The clip I posted below has more accurate information, I found it this morning. Blake had the sheet on this call so he was in charge. Very sad story but still neat to see your husband on the news!

So the story goes...The mom claims she turned around to cut up some watermelon, no more than a minute and when she turned around her kids were both under water. A nurse  happened to be there and started CPR on the boy who was not responsive. They did CPR for about 20-30 min until Med-star got there, and at that point they still didn't have a heart beat. Med start was able to get one but they had him on a breathing machine. They took the boy to the hospital by careflight. We just know that he was in critical condition and on breathing machines. We wont know if he made it or not.

Praying for him and his family. I hope I never have to experience that. Being in the water with Parker already scares me, I watch him like a hawk.

Blake's beat is normally really calm but while he was on this call he heard two other call from his beat come in. He didn't take them but he heard about them.

One call was two adults fight over gun. The officer who took the call said that by the time he got there the husband had the gun locked away and the wife was up stairs. The gun was never out of the case, it was never pointed at anyone. Still...why were they fighting over it. Come on people.

Another call came in that someone found a skinned cat in their front yard. Who skins a cat???? Blake said it had to of been kids. Messed up kids if you ask me.

The End

First drug bust...

I will start with the most exciting stories first...

Monday nights seem to be the busiest day for Blake. Strange I know. He got a call for assault on a female. Some guy  busted up his wife's nose and left on his motorcycle. Blake and another officer were running code there. Blake was following the other officer there and the other officer saw the guy pass them going the other direction. They were driving about 80 and the officer Blake was following slammed on his brakes to pull a u-turn, since Blake didn't see the guy passing them on the other side of the road he almost rear ended the officer in front of him. He wouldn't have lost his job for getting into a wreak but he may of had to take a few days off, like a suspension. Anyways, he didn't get into an accident and they caught up with the guy and arrested him.

Another exciting call on Monday night...They got a call for a suspicious person sitting in the back of a church parking lot. It was the church on Beach street and Alta Vista. When they got there the guy was just sitting in his car, it wasn't running. They got out and asked the guy what he was doing. He said that his girlfriend lives in the houses behind the church and he goes there and talks to her through the fence. He says he does that so he doesn't wake up her kids. Sounds fishy already. They continued to question him and eventually asked him if they could search his car. He said no, so they had to call K-9 unit out.  Blake said since his story was crazy they wanted to search the car to make sure he wasn't selling drugs or anything. They had to detain the guy in cuffs while they waited for the k-9 unit to get there. Once the guy knew k-9 was almost there the guy was like "you guys can search my car, I give you consent now". When the k-9 dog got there it runs up to the car sniffs it and if it smells anything it paws at the door handle and sits down. That's exactly what it did! Those dogs are so cool!

Blake's first drug bust!

The car was a total mess, it looked like the guy was living out of his car so he didn't let the dog in to find the drugs. so the three officer searched the whole car and found...a small bag of marijuana, 2 hydrocodone  pills, two illegal knifes, and a gun. They were all very mad that the guy failed to let them know he had a gun in the car. Thank goodness he didn't pull it out and start shooting, anythings possible and you can't trust anyone. Needless to say they arrested that guy, and got that worthless piece of crap of the street for a few days.

Blake took a call for an elderly guy being robbed. Two guys pushed opens this old mans door. The elderly guy used a cane and they took him and held him on the couch with the cane under his neck. While they did that they took his tv and phone. Blake got there and took the report and the next day Blake was commended for his great report. Since he got such a good description of the guy they were able to find the guy and arrest them. Hes going to jail for Robbery home invasion, its different than robbing someones home when they are not there. Way to go Blake!

Blake sent me a text and said he went to a call because some guys bike was stolen and they replaced it with some crappy bike...I thought that was funny so I had to share!

Just to prove how good of a guy Blake is...He almost hit a dog because it was running across the street, so he got out and got it. It had a tag so he returned it to its owners. What a nice cop.
