Parker + Dirt = DIRTY BOY!

This year I am giving it a go and planted a small garden. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can grow something. It would be super nice to save on fresh veggies!

Parker jumped in as soon as we laid the box down.
We had a hard time trying to get him out so we could fill it with dirt!

He really likes to play in dirt

I had to run out during a workout break and take a picture. He was a mess.
At one point I had to run out and wash his mouth out because he was eating dirt.
 BOYS!!!!!!!!

what a mess! I didn't get a close up but he had a dirt stash!
I love this dirty boy, and he didn't learn to love dirt from me! OK... Well maybe he did!
Give him a few years and he will be making mud pies too!

phase two, day one

Last night was Blake's first night working midnights for phase two of training. I didn't get to talk to him about how his night was until I got home from church today at 3. He said it is totally different. He said the other officers are much more cool, they are all young. He said its so fast paced and exciting.
He ended up getting a different FTO because his original one was sick. Now he has some one named Dickerson. Blake said he drives crazy, and he was holding on for dear life the whole time they were in the car.
In one night Blake got to write two tickets, and on days he wrote two in 4 weeks. He said that the FTO he has now likes to just pull up to people walking and talk to them see if they are carrying anything when they are busy. He seems to be a much better trainer than his first FTO. He showed him where they drug houses are, where prostitutes work/stay, where the pimp lives, and what areas the different gangs live in. He told Blake he will get him caught up on all his training, and plans on trying to take a call where someone will run so Blake can experience a foot chase. Oh and I am super thrilled about this...he also wants to try to get him on a call where he thinks someone will fight. GREAT!!! I slept fine last night but I doubt I will tonight. I am up at 10:15 blogging so what does that say!

I am sure this will be one very exciting month for Blake and I think he will learn a lot. Please keep him in your prayers that he stays safe and returns home to us!

17 months old

17 months old...really?!

Parker is doing so much it is so hard to keep up with him. I should write everything new he does down but I wouldn't put the pen down. He amazes me everyday and I am so thankful to be home with him to witness it all!

What is he doing now...
He currently really likes to say "uh oh"...if he drops a raisin he says it, he pretty much says it any chance he gets. The word NO has really taken off with him too. The funny thing is he doesn't say if we are trying to make him change his diaper or anything like that. He mostly says it when Blake tries to hide his pen when hes wearing his uniform. Parker LOVES playing with it. He takes it out of the hole and puts it back in. silly kid.
He is obsessed with my untying my shoes. I always have them in double knots and in a few minutes he has them both untied. He is a strange kid! He even has me tie them back so he can untie them again.

He really loves playing on our bed. He just started hiding under the pillows and waits for us to say, "where is Parker". Any time we are on the bed he has always seemed to think its time to sit on our heads or jump all over us. If we tickle him he signs for more! He is using that sign to his advantage.

He tries to mock us when we work out. He swings his arms if we are doing jumping jacks, does downward dog with us, jumps if we are jumping. Hes so stinking cute!

He is going through a bit of a violent stage. mostly thinks its funny to hit, I think most kids go through this. OUCH is all I have to say. He hits hard. Hopefully we can get it under control.

He now has 8 teeth! I don't know that I will notice if any other teeth are coming in since all his front teeth are in. who knows.

Here are two cute videos!

So long phase one...Hello phase two

As of yesterday at 3:30 pm, Blake completed phase one of training. He actually starts phase two tonight at 8:00pm....yikes. He's jumping right into midnights. We thought he would go to evenings and then to midnights...nope we were wrong. He actually has to work 7 days straight right now too. This is going to be a very hard week and he will need some time to recover on Wednesday. For the next 4 weeks he will have Wednesday,Thursday, and Friday off.

This last week of phase one Blake didn't get to do much, because once again he had a lazy FTO. On Wednesday he spend about 2 or more hours hanging out at the gun range so his FTO could qualify. Since Blake was there he got to qualify too, and shot a 97.3. Good job babe! One day he even spend half the morning fixing old reports his FTO had made mistakes on from the past. I was irritated when he told me about that but what can we do?!

A few exciting things did happen so his first phase came to a good close. He got to arrest another kid from Fossil Ridge, our old high school. Ha ha apparently its the drug capital of schools! He also got to file assault charges on a stripper..hehe. So here is the story... You have one stripper on stage doing her thing (dancing!) and one waiting for her turn. Well the one waiting got impatient and decided to push the girl on stage down and kick her in the face. This is one of those times I wish I was at a strip club in the audience..lol what a scene. Those men got a show!! Blake got to file the report and take pictures of the girls face.

that's all I've got on phase one. He starts phase two tonight so hopefully he comes home with some crazy stories. He will be working  midnights short north (close to stockyards) the complete opposite to days in deep north (Heritage trace area). We have learned that deep north is full of parents who can't control their kids and crazy old people. Oh and lots of BMV's and accidents.

Rumor has it his new FTO is one who likes to take the crazy calls...praying for Blake's safety. Maybe after tonight I am going to really like his old FTO!

pretty butterfly!

On Sunday we went to the Butterfly exhibit at the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth. We went with our Aunt Karen and Deanna, we love hanging out with them and Parker adores them as much as we do!

We had so much fun looking at the different butterflies they had. They were so pretty!

Parker of course found water.

These are actually nocturnal so they were asleep while we were there. Very cool looking.

Parker had so much fun looking at the butterflies. he was waving at them and signing butterfly.

Parker almost sat on this one.. oops

We got him up close to one and he wasn't so crazy about them then!

signing butterfly

Butterfly gang...Blake, Christine, Parker, Karen, and Deanna

of course we had to go walk around the gardens, to pretty to pass up!

Look at me I am a big boy!

Thanks for thinking of us Karen and Deanna, we had a wonderful time!

Vitamin D!

Parker is definitely not going to have a vitamin D deficiency! If the sun is out we are headed out doors.
Yesterday ended up being a gorgeous day, after a few days of no sun and lots of rain.  I am thankful for the rain because I sure do miss the sun when its gone.

one happy family!

clapping after he threw a flower into the water

mommy and Parker.

one day his feet will reach the pedals

I enhanced this picture obviously but I just loved it...not sure why!
Maybe because he's just holding on to his cup and wondering free...to be a kid again!

look how he is standing...he looks like a big boy!

my mom bought him his green crocs and he loves them!
they don't match much but I don't mind they are GREEN!

finally some action on the streets!

This week Blake has finally wrote his first ticket, made his first arrest, and his first TV appearance!WOW what a week!

Day shift is pretty slow but this week has been a great week for Blake.
On Tuesday early afternoon they took a call for ABC Wrecker company. Some guys semi got towed and he came to pick it up and they told him to wait while they gathered the paperwork together. The guy didn't want to wait so he just went and found his truck on his own and took it. The owner ran after him and ended up getting ran over. Blake didn't actually get to arrest the guy since he got the call to get the report at the company. bummer. anyways here is the link to the story and at 35 seconds in you will see Blake on TV and again at 1:09. I happened to be watching the news and saw him! kinda cool!

He has been dealing with more accidents than anything. He had to write a lady a ticket for careless driving from left to right. just a heads up if one of the parties in the accident doesn't admit to being at fault someone will get ticketed to go along with the report.

His first arrest just happened to be at our old stomping grounds from 10 years ago...yep our old high school, good old Fossil Ridge. He had to arrest a 19 year old (must have been held back) for being in possession of marijuana. He had 5 baggies and it looked like he was going to sell it but they couldn't prove it. He got to handcuff him and drive him downtown to the jail and book him and do all the paperwork.

Blake has a pretty lazy FTO and he was starting to worry that he wouldn't get a chance to do any of this. I am glad he is slow and not doing anything dangerous but at the same time I want him to get experience. He wont always be training and better to do it now than by himself. Just so no one worries he will always have a partner they just don't drive together.
