sono pics 26 weeks

The doctor sent me for a sonogram to get measurements and to make sure everything looked ok. Since I didn't see the doctor today I wont know for sure if anything is wrong until my next visit or I get a phone call. It's been a week since by glucose test and no call so I am in the clear. Bring on the sugar!

We did get our confirmation that we are 100% sure its a boy! Although the first set of pics had me 100% convinced! Parker Kenneth!!!!

Alot has changed since my last appt with my Dr. I have switched from using her to using a Midwife. I will still deliver at Baylor All saints Andrews Women's Hospital just using a Midwife now. Speaking to a few of the doulas I found out that the doctor I was currently using Dr Guerra doesn't like Doulas. She said I could use one but when it was time for her to enter the room that my Doula would have to leave...Whats the point of a doula if she cant stay with me. I was never to crazy about my doctor anyway so I just decided better to switch now and feel comfortable using a doctor that is ok with my birth wishes.

Now I just need to register and start painting Parkers room! Our Favorite Aunt Karen will be here probably the 2nd week in August to get started. That reminds me I need to start sewing the curtians too!Let the fun begin!

24 weeks along

This week I am 24 weeks, the big 6 months. Time is flying by. I went to the DR today and every thing sounds good with heart beat. I had to drink the orange stuff for my glucose test. I have to be honest it wasn't as bad as I thought. My friends told me it was like orange crush and I agree. The sugar had the baby going crazy after I drank it. Hopefully everything is ok but I should know by early next week if anything comes back positive, they are also testing me for anemia. I am thinking I am ok in the iron department but we shall see.

I weighed in today at 148...wow exactly. I am going to defend myself and say its all belly! I am really curious to see what my final weight in is when this kid is born. I am sad to announce I officially weigh more than Blake, but that's ok because he is just way to skinny.

I am getting really excited about everything now since its getting closer to the end. I have been reading up on natural childbirth and next week I am meeting with 3 doulas. I would like to interview at least 5 just to be sure. Once I interview them I sense a temple trip coming up so that I can pray about who I have decided to use just to reassure myself!

Blake has been a super husband through this pregnancy, he has even researched natural childbirth himself and contacted a doula for me too!

I feel wonderful and couldn't be more happy with the way my first pregnancy is going! Sono pics next week...stay tuned!

Our baby boy has a name!

We finally decided on a name! Parker Kenneth Jenkins. We cant wait to meet this handsome kid!

Sneak peak!!! We got the crib bedding in today and cant wait to start painting!

Thanks for visiting Jacob!

Every summer Blake's nephew comes into town to stay with Grandma Sandy. He is 11 years old and is at the age where he wants to hang with the big kids. He stayed our house several nights and had a wonderful time playing games with his uncle Blake. We took him to his first Texas Rangers game. We invited my friend Alycia's son Blake to tag alone which was really fun especially since he is baseball pro. He knows exactly what to do at a ball game! Jacob was to shy to dance around and cheer...maybe next year!

I am so glad that we had the opportunity to spend time with Jacob and show him a good time!

Decisions...decisions

22 weeks this week a little over halfway done!...and still so much to do.
So many of you think I am completely crazy for wanting a natural childbirth. yes, that means drug free no epidural. I have made up my mind and I am determined! I know I am strong and can do anything I put my mind to. Since I want to make sure I succeed at a natural drug free childbirth I have been doing some reasearch. I am looking into hiring a doula, taking birthing classes other than the ones the hospital offers. The only problem is all this natural stuff gets very pricey and I dont have that kind of money. I haven't heard back fromt the doula yet so I am keeping my fingers crossed that she is affordable and just what I am looking for. If all else fails there are plenty of books for me to read and still a few months to teach Blake to be a good coach for me... if he doesn't pass out!
Another decision we are trying to make is a name for our sweet boy. Ever since Blake and I have been together we have always like the name Evan Kenneth Jenkins. We still love it but our nephew's name is Ethan and Blake keeps calling our baby Ethan instead of Evan. I guess the two names starting with an E is throwing him off. We have a few other names in mind, Mason Kenneth is our next favorite. We have until hes born to name him so well see.
Next month we get to start decorating our nursery and I am so excited. I actually just ordered the crib bedding off Amazon. Pictures will be up as soon as its done.
