San Antonio Trip

We decided a few weeks ago to sneek away for a quick family vacation. We had a great time, and it was just what we needed!
we hadn't been in the hotel room for more than 10 minutes and parker
decided to hide and take care of buisness.
and Blake couldn't wait to watch cable tv!

He had no trouble making himself at home.
We left on Wedensday after Blake woke up. Since Blake sleeps in from working late we still go to go to the park and story time at the libary. My hopes were to wear him out before the road trip but he ended up staying awake for most of the drive. He feel asleep with about 45 minutes left of our drive. Even though he was tired he did great! I was really worried but was prepared with lots of book and snacks. I can't leave out that I checked out an Elmo cd for him to listen to. Yeah it got old quick but he loved it! Once we got to the hotel and got settled in we walked down to the market street. It was  only a 5-10 minute walk. We ate at a resturant called Mi Terra. It got great reviews so I was excited we were so close to it. Lets just say it was OK. They decorate in christmas all year long and its open 24 hours, so that was cool. Oh and they have a bakery! who doesn't love them some pan dulce! (mexican bread)
After dinner we headed back to the hotel for some cable tv...we don't have cable so we were excited! lol the little things in life! We figured since Parker didn't sleep much he would want to go straight to sleep...nope he knew we were on vacation and wanted to stay up late. He eventually did go to sleep and kept Blake up all night! He seems to gravitate towards Blakes side and pushes him off the bed which meant I got a great nights sleep and Blake not so much.

he always has smiles for pictures with mommy!

Thursday we spent the day at Sea World!
i promise he does smile!
We started our morning with breakfast at Mi Terra, which was awesome. I highly recommend it for Breakfast not dinner. Our hotel ended up being fairly close to sea world and only took about 15-20 minutes to get there. The park opened at 10 and we didn't leave until 6. We saw almost every show they had. Our favorite show was the Azul show. It was funny and the most entertaining overall. We sat in the wet zone and we got wet!

We did see a samu show and at that point Parker was fighting sleep so he wasn't that interested. It wasn't a great show so I can't blame him. We didn't have the energy to stay until 8 for the big shamu show. Parker is in love with Elmo right now and so we had to take him to see the Elmo rocks show. He seemed to enjoy it but of course he showed no emotion!

hes so cool! spiderman glasses

We feed the dolphins and he wanted to get in the water with them. We tired to get him to throw them a fish but as soon as he touched one he let go. yucky, stinky and slimy. They had a shark aqaurium and he liked that too. We headed over to feed the sea lions afterwards, same thing he wouldn't touch the fish. The sea lions were funny, they would fight each other for the fish and would start talking, begging us for more fish. There was this huge one that always pushed the others out of the way. We stayed and watched the sea lion show and like it a lot too. Parker even decieded to find himsleft a new seat to enjoy the show.

ha ha cheese

he looks mad!

he found a new seat!
At this point in our trip we were so hot and decided it was time for our swim suits. They have a seasme street splash park for kids that we played at. parker was running around screaming having a great time! They had tubes you could crawl through and he saw some bigger kids do it and after that we couldn't get him to stop. We decided to go see what Aquatica was all about so we walked over there. It looks really fun if you don't have kids with you. Parker could only play in two spots. The area that had slides, he wasn't big enough for. We had him go down a slide but he went down to fast. The water in that area got up to about 2-3 feet deep so he was limited on place he could go by himself. Of course that didn't stop him. He would walk as far into the water he could and we would have to pull him up from under the water. He was even jumping into the water to make himself go under, and everytime he seemed surprised he went under. We have such a brave kid! The other kid friendly area was similar to NRH2O but not as good. It didn't have slides. It was just an area you could walk around on and play with water hoses and things. The had cute little whales to sit on like seasaws. He mostly just laid on his belly and was "swimming" basically army crawling in the water. He loves to do that! He was starting to act really mellow so I said are you ready to go bye by and he just turned around and waved bye bye to the water. Sweet boy was exshausted! We originally had planned to spend all day friday at Aquatica but i am glad we went saturday evening instead. It would have been a huge waste of time since Parker couldn't do much.

he fell asleep as soon as we pulled out of our parking spot.

he slept from 6 pm to 6:45 am...he was tired!
Before we left we did go to the gift shop and he found the books. He grabbed one and sat down to read it. We also had someone take our family picture. We had a wonderful time!

On friday our last day in San Antonio we made it to the riverwalk. Parker had the most fun, blake and I were just trying to make sure he didn't fall or jump in the river. Parker loved the ducks and pigeons. He would run after them and anytime he saw stairs they had to be climbed. crazy kid. We ate lunch at a resturant called 'The original Mexican resturant'. It was one of the places that was open before 11 so we decided to give it a shot. It ended up being really good. Much better than Mi Terra for dinner. Glad we found it. After lunch we said goodby to San Antonio and headed back to fort worth. Parker ended up sleeping for about 2-2.5 hours which was nice!
taking advantage of free cable.

We live in a sick world...

Sometimes admitting that we live in denial is a good thing. We know crazy stuff goes on around us but not knowing is a plus! Now that Blake is a police officer I know things. He has shown me known drug houses, told me about certian areas that are "ghetto" that appear to be really nice. I have learned that no matter where you live, bad is everywhere.

Just after my last Blake update post, he came home with more crazy stories! If my Blake updates don't keep you reading my blog I don't know what will!

He told me that a guy beat his wife with a baseball bat, shoved it down her throat. Then he left her bleeding in the middle of the street. When the cops got there he wouldn't open the door, so they had to kick it down.

Well the internet is a whole new world for dating...a gross dating world! Blake told me they got a call from a lady needing a ride home from a couples house she met on the internet. She met this couple on the internet with plans to have intercourse. they pickedher up and took her back to their place and they wanted a three way, she didn't want a three way so she ran out of the house and call the cops.
Maybe she shouldn't look for lovin some other place! What did she expect!

Keep a close watch on your kids. Can you trust anyone these days?
Blake got a call from an apartment complex saying a guy was in the gym watching kids swim and pleasuring himself. They didn't catch him in the act but he has been seem watching/following. Once the cops got there to talk to the apartments all these other people started saying they saw him following his daughter, he grabed his daugthers arm, and he was asking girls out on dates. I was very proud of Blake when he told the guy "well if someone grabbed my daughters arm, I would have called the cops then. I wouldn't have waited a few days to say something." That idiot thought he would keep a close watch and confront him on his own...not a good idea.

I hope this post didn't bring you down. I actually feel like I should just delete it, but I also feel its good for us to know. double sided sword.

it take him about 30 minutes to get dressed.

daddy came home for dinner!

20 months!

Parker is 20 months old today! The older he gets the more energy he has...i didn't think that was possible!
enjoying the rain!

he was happy sitting in this in the house.
In the car thats another story
He sees me wearing these when I work out.
He loves to try to be a big kid.

He is one crazy kid! He keeps Blake and I on our toes. He has no fear sometimes and it scares the crap out of me. Today he was actually rolling off the couch, and even landed on his head a few times. He thought it was halarious and even if it hurt he would get right back up and do it again. we would hear ouches in between giggles. I am glad he isn't a weenie!

running at blake and throwing himself on him.

he likes to jump on our heads a lot...no
wonder I am having so many headaches!

being sweet. He loves his Elmo! Thanks aunt Karen and Deanna!

Elmo needed to go potty and a hug!
He makes us laugh all the time with how silly he is. He makes some goofy faces and is so dramatic. He has a great sense of humor and I LOVE IT! He also this crazy violent side too. He loves to wrestle and someone always ends up getting hurt. I think just this week he has busted his lip, and banged up his chin. He even knocked me really hard in the jaw that caused me to have ringing in my ear. OUCH. He gets this look in his eyes and then charges us, like a bull. I have a feeling he is going to be like me, small but tough! The difference between us is he has a sweet side!
This month he has been into coloring. He can even draw a circle, a really good one too! He is working on his fine motor skills! He amazes us everyday with how much he is talking. The most recent thing he said was "where did dad go". We were playing hide and scare isntead of hide and seek, and he couldn't find Blake.

This summer we are having fun in the sun and enjoying our NRH2O season passes. We also have a fun family mini-vacation coming up. I am so excited about it!

I am keeping this post short since I can't seem to think of anything to write. If I wasn't exshausted it might help. enjoy the pictures and just know we love Parker so much and are so blessed to have such a colorful kid!

Very cute video of parker sitting on the potty signing "the itsy bitsy spider"

(I don't see his special place but if you can let me know so I can take this down!)
